Cancer Research UK
In July we held the 'Caedmon Factor' showcasing the talent within the school. From the sale of tickets, raffle tickets and refreshments we raised a magnificent £360.47. The sale of year books to year nine students and the Casino held at the Prom raised a further £501.38. This means a grand total of £992.57 will be passed to Cancer Research UK. Well done!!

Help for Heroes
A team from Whitby Coastguard are climbing Ben Nevis this summer to raise funds for Help for Heroes. To support them in this endeavour Caedmon School held a 60's Day on Thursday 17 June to also raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity. The children and staff dressed in 60's clothing, a band played at lunchtime and lunch was served from a marquee in the quad. A fantastic total of £341.57 was raised. Sport Relief
A big thank you to Miss Richardson, Mr Hopper and everyone else involved especially those who came along to run and support the event. A grand total of £852.00 was raised from the sale of socks, non-uniform day, penalty shoot out at school and all the events on Sunday 21 March. If you missed it, I am sure it will be back in two years' time.

Bun Bake for Zambia Sport in Action 2010

British Heart Foundation
February was National Heart Month and to support the British Heart Foundation the pupils had the opportunity to buy a heart and display it in the foyer with a message on to a loved one. Pin badges were also for sale in school. A big thank you goes out to the Whitby BHF for its support with the fundraising event and donation of the paper hearts. To date £174.69 has been raised. |

Seed Collection
Between January and March the school is collecting packets of seeds for Convoy Aid Romania. We especially would like vegetable seeds to provide food for families but flower seeds are fine too!
Important:
The seeds must be in date
and please do NOT bring seeds for sprouts or broccoli as we cannot send these. To date we have collected around 50 packets of seeds. |
Haiti Earthquake
In January we held a non-uniform day in aid of the people of Haiti. To date a total of £501.80 has been raised. |
Oxfam
We are currently collecting used books to donate to Oxfam. |

Boots for Africa
We held a football boot collection for Whitby FC who forwarded all boots collected to the 'Boots for Africa' appeal. |
Christmas Party
In December, our annual Senior Citizens party was held with entertainment provided by Mr Maltby and the school orchestra. The Home and School Association were on hand to serve the afternoon tea. A great afternoon was had by all who attended. |
Children in Need
In November we held a Karaoke and Bun Bake in aid of Children in Need and raised £449.70. |
Stars in Their Eyes
This well attended event raised £688.10 for the Caedmon Class in India which we are sponsoring. In first place was Christy Grady who was Christina Aguilera, in second place was Paul Owen-Connelly who was Freddie Mercury and in third place was Rebecca Simpson who was Lady Ga Ga. |
